Magento might not be the oldest application in e-commerce, yet it has managed to present itself as the most versatile and flexible Content Management System for setting up an online store. Moreover, its variety of editions has allowed both tech savvies and enterprises to cater their business needs. Such is the case that brands like Nike, Lindt, and Paul Smith have chosen Magento for their e-commerce success.

Is Magento right for your business?

All these enterprises mentioned above are well established and have all the resources to make their Magento robust. For a startup or small business, paying around USD 15,000 per year is quite a hefty amount. Magento Go (somewhat of an ‘intermediate’ edition) might be a perfect solution to begin, but it has many caps and growth limitations. Even in the Enterprise Edition, many key support features like data migration, core product upgrades and best practices recommendations are missing.

So does that mean Magento is no-go for SMEs? Absolutely not!
